英語を「使えるようになりたい」と思うなら、オールイングリッシュの環境はとても大切です。

しかし、最初のうちは英語だけで進むレッスンに戸惑ったり、「何を言っているのかわからない」と感じたりすることもあるでしょう。

そこで今回から数回にわたり、オールイングリッシュの環境で楽しく学び、力を伸ばしていくためのアドバイスをお伝えします。

① 先生やクラスメートをよく見ましょう

言葉は、その場の状況と結びついていると理解しやすくなります。つまり、言葉を理解するためには、まず「今、何が起きているのか」を理解することが大切です。

そのためには、先生やクラスメートの様子をよく観察することが欠かせません。

実は、この「よく見る力」は英語学習だけでなく、あらゆるコミュニケーションで役立つ大切な力です。相手の表情や動き、周りの状況に目を向けることで、言葉以上の情報を受け取ることができます。

もちろん、誰でも時々気が散ってしまうことはあります。そんな時は、「今、教室で何が起きているかな？」と意識を戻してみましょう。

先生やクラスメートをよく見て、よく聞くこと。

それを続けている生徒は、おおしろキッズ英語教室のオールイングリッシュ環境の中で、少しずつ英語がわかる喜びを感じ、自信をつけていくことができます。

My Advice for New Students ①

An all-English environment is extremely important for students who are learning English with the goal of actually using the language. For some students, however, this environment can understandably feel overwhelming at first.

In the next few blog posts, I would like to offer some advice to those students who want to succeed in an all-English environment.

1. Watch the teacher and your classmates carefully.

Language is much easier to understand when it is connected to a situation. The key to understanding language is first understanding the situation itself. To do this, you need to use your eyes.

Paying close attention to what is happening around you is not a strategy that applies only to English. Whenever possible, it is a very helpful strategy for all communication.

Of course, everyone gets distracted from time to time. When that happens, I strongly recommend quickly returning your attention to what is happening in the classroom so that you can understand the current situation.

Students who consistently watch and listen carefully will quickly begin to experience success in the all-English environment at Oshiro Kids English School.
