おおしろキッズ英語教室は、Non-Target English Approach®を使いコミュニケーションをとりながら、学習として教科書（テキスト）も使ってレッスンしています。

年度最後の月にはテキストの「アチーブメント・ターゲット」（これだけできるようにがんばろう）の確認をします。

これはテストではありません。

テキストを使って学んだ子どもたちが、「どんなことを学び」で、「何ができるようになったか」を可視化して確認するものです。

「レッスンに通って、宿題もやってきたから、こんなことが出来るようになった！」と、頑張った自分を認めて欲しいのです。

レッスンに来て、受け身でいるだけでは英語は身につきません。

自ら「ちょっと頑張る」が大事です！

レッスンでも復習していますが、「ここの宿題やってなかった」「ここ自信ないな」と思う部分はお家でも復習しましょう。

宿題シールもらえてない所は、もう一度お家で練習しましょう。

できるようになることが増えれば、レッスンや宿題の価値が上がり、学ぶ動機づけにもなります！

レッスンでは、子どもたちはあまり「お勉強」としてレッスンを受けている実感はないと思いますが、確実に新しい言葉を習得しています！

一年通して「これだけできるようになったよ！」と言語化できれば、子どもたちもっと英語に自信がつきます！

次のレベルに上がる子には、該当テキストの修了証をお渡しします！

March is Total Review Time!

At Oshiro Kids, we use the Non-Target English Approach® to communicate while also incorporating textbook (text) lessons for structured learning.

In the final month of the school year, we review the textbook’s “Achievement Targets” (the goals of “Let’s do our best to be able to do this!”).

This is not a test.

It’s a way to visualize and confirm what the children have learned from the textbook and what they can now do.

We want them to recognize their own hard work: “I’ve been coming to lessons and doing my homework, so now I can do these things!”

Simply attending lessons passively won’t help English sink in.

What’s important is making a little extra effort on your own!

We do review during lessons too, but if there are parts where students think, “I didn’t do the homework for this” or “I’m not confident here,” students should review them at home as well.

For any sections where students haven’t earned the homework sticker yet, students should practice them again at home.

The more things students become able to do, the more value they’ll see in lessons and homework, which will also boost their motivation to learn!

During lessons, the children may not feel like they’re “studying” in the traditional sense, but they are steadily acquiring new words and expressions!

If they can put into words throughout the year, “Look how much I can do now!”, it will build even more confidence in English!

For children moving up to the next level, we will present a certificate of completion for the relevant textbook!
