今年は特に良い夏でした！

新しい教室は、生徒たちや保護者の皆様にも喜んでいただいています。

オープン記念の3時間英語プログラムは、外部の子どもたちもたくさん参加してくれて、とても盛り上がり喜んでくれました！

そして、この夏、生徒の数も更に増えました！

これはもちろん、現在のクラスの人数が増えることを意味します。

保護者の中には、「少人数クラスの方がいいのでは？」と人数が増えるのを気にされている方もいるかもしれません。

英語を使いながらコミュニケーション力を伸ばすことを考えると、実は、クラスの人数は多いほうが良いと考えています。人数が増えればより多くの個性があり、生徒一人ひとりのノンターゲット・イングリッシュの量も増えます。互いに影響し合うことで、成長も非常に早くなるのです。

これは、30年間子どもたちを教えてきた僕の経験からそう言えます。

おおしろキッズ英語教室をオープンした頃は当然1クラスの人数はとても少なかったです。それでも、子どもたちの英語の成長は、嬉しいことに僕が予想していたよりも早かったと思います！

そして、今、クラスにもよりますが、1クラスの人数が増えきているので、さらにより素晴らしい成長が見られると期待しています！

It has been a good summer.

We have moved to the new classroom, and it has become loved and accepted by teachers, students and parents alike.

To mark the opening of the new classroom we had a series of very successful 3-hour programs, where we worked with current students as well as students outside the school.

This summer too, we have received a number of new students!

This of course means that the size of some of our current classes will of course grow…!

Parents' slight concern about this is understandable. The image of the ideal English language class is a small number of students in the class.

 That might be true for adults learning English, but children most often benefit from a large class. 

In a large class, there are more personalities, and the reactions to Non-Target English experiences presented by the teacher are big. Young students influence each other and their growth is extremely fast. 

 This has been my experience in 30 years of teaching children.

Now, at Oshiro Kids, our early classes were small. The children's English growth was, to my surprise, faster than I expected! Now that some classes are increasing in size, I believe we will see faster growth and development. 

This year’s good summer is leading us towards an excellent autumn and winter!
