「正解を早く出せること」が、学びだと思われがちな時代です。 でも本当に大切なのは、“どうやってそこにたどり着いたか”ではないでしょうか。 おおしろキッズ英語教室では、英語を教えるだけではなく、「学び方」そのものを大切にしています。 まずは、よく見ること。 先生の口の動き、相手の表情、周りの様子。 子どもたちは、見ようと思って見ることで、たくさんのことに気づいていきます。 そして、よく聞くこと。 音や言葉だけではなく、相手が何を伝えようとしているのかに耳を傾ける。 人の話をしっかり聞く力は、学びの土台であり、人との関わりの土台でもあります。 さらに、自分の頭で考えること。 すぐに答えを教えてもらうのではなく、「どう思う？」「どうしたらいいかな？」と問いかけながら、自分なりの答えを探していきます。 そして、間違いを恐れずチャレンジすること。 最初から完璧にできる子はいません。 でも、「やってみよう」と一歩踏み出した経験は、子どもの大きな自信になります。 英語は、そのための“道具”のひとつです。 英語を通して、見る力、聞く力、考える力、人と関わる力、挑戦する力を育てていきたいと思っています。 これからの時代、必要なのは知識だけではありません。 自分で見て、聞いて、考えて、行動できる力。 そんな「生きる力」につながる学びを、私たちは大切にしています。 ここは、英語だけを教える教室ではありません。 子どもたちが、自分らしく未来を切り拓いていくための土台を育てる場所でありたいと思っています。

The Learning Process Matters

We live in an age where being able to quickly produce the “right answer” is often seen as the goal of learning.
But what truly matters is how we arrive at that answer.

At Oshiro Kids English School, we value not only teaching English, but also teaching children how to learn.

First, we emphasize careful observation.
Watching a teacher’s mouth movements, noticing another person’s facial expressions, and paying attention to the surrounding environment.
When children actively choose to observe, they begin to notice and understand many important things.

Next, we focus on listening carefully.
Not just hearing sounds or words, but truly listening to what someone is trying to communicate.
The ability to listen well forms the foundation of learning, as well as the foundation of meaningful human relationships.

We also encourage children to think for themselves.
Rather than immediately giving them answers, we ask questions like, “What do you think?” or “What should we do?”
This helps them search for their own understanding and develop independent thinking skills.

And importantly, we teach children to challenge themselves without fearing mistakes.
No child can do everything perfectly from the start.
But the experience of taking that first brave step and trying builds tremendous confidence.

English is simply one of the tools we use for this purpose.
Through learning English, we aim to nurture observation skills, listening skills, critical thinking, communication abilities, and the courage to take on challenges.

In the future, knowledge alone will not be enough.
Children need the ability to observe, listen, think, and act independently.
We believe this is the kind of learning that develops true life skills.
