また一つキャンプが終わり、たくさんの幸せな思い出が残りました！僕が特に心に残っているのは、栃木の波に挑戦する子どもたちの姿です。午後の荒々しい波はまさに自然そのものでした。しっかり安全対策をした上で、子どもたちは海に入り遊びました。明らかにこのような環境は、当然教室では再現できないですし、子どもたちが自然の力に立ち向かう姿は僕にとって大変新しい経験でした。海に慣れていない都会育ちの子どもたちにとって、波に足を取られたり、靴が流されたりする自然の強さは怖かったかもしれません。それでも、「楽しい！」と大声ではしゃぐ子どもたちの姿をみることができて本当によかったです。

今回のキャンプでは、もう嬉しいことがありました。安全のための大人の指示をしっかりと聞けていたことです。日頃から、体操教室でも英語教室でも「よく見る、よく聞く」を指導していることもあり、キャンプ場の担当者からは、おおしろキッズの子どもたちの主体的な態度を大変褒めてくださいました。

"Summer Camp, 2025"

Another camp has come to an end, leaving behind a treasure trove of joyful memories! What stays with me the most is the sight of the children bravely facing the waves in Tochigi. The wild afternoon waves were the epitome of nature itself. With thorough safety measures in place, the kids dove into the sea and played. It’s clear that such an environment can’t be replicated in a classroom, and watching the children confront the power of nature was a truly novel experience for me. For city-raised kids unaccustomed to the sea, the strength of the waves—tripping them up or sweeping away their shoes—might have been frightening. Yet, seeing them shout “This is fun!” with such excitement was truly heartwarming.

Another delightful moment from this camp was how well the children listened to the adults’ safety instructions. Thanks to our daily emphasis on “look carefully, listen well” in gymnastics and English classes, the camp staff praised the proactive and responsible attitude of the Oshiro Kids.
